Puppy reminder!

Mojo and Thor napping until Mark woke them up with the camera.

We had a scarey reminder that we have a puppy in the house. This past Friday night we decided since everyone was home that we would have a family movie night. We had eaten a great dinner and I had made dark chocolate brownies for dessert. Anyone who knows our Mojo knows that he will never touch or take any food (not even a crumb off the floor) without us telling him it is okay. He won't even eat his own food without us telling him to eat. Well let's just say Thor is nothing like Mojo when it comes to food.

Mark set down his brownie dessert onto the coffee table and went to pick out a DVD for the family to watch; within seconds Thor had eaten his brownie. Normally I would not think even twice about it and I would simply just correct the dog, but these were dark chocolate brownies. The kind that can really harm a dog let alone a puppy. Annabelle immediately started to cry and cradle Thor. I went to the phone and called the emergency animal hospital. Thankfully, he only ate one and had no ill effects. Thor lives up to his name and is one tough dog. Annabelle after being consoled was happy she didn't have to worry about Thor.

Apparently though Mark isn't a quick learner, so on Monday while he was sitting on the floor eating his lunch Mark set his plate down next to him.Thor then snuck around the chair and ate Mark's sandwich without Mark noticing (no KISS was not on the tele!). Mark couldn't believe it. He was so quiet and fast. LOL! Duh, aren't we all when we don't want to get into trouble?

So to update - In the month that Thor has been a part of our family he has gained 10 lbs, has grown 3 inches taller and my floors have never been cleaner!

Vicki, he just couldnt be any cuter! I am thrilled he is doing so well. Guess he just needs to work on his manners, apparently he just likes to help himself. Glad he is ok after eating the brownie!! How has the digging habit been going?

Tammy thanks for asking, the digging has stopped for the most part. He decided he liked another spot in the yard, but we quickly placed his poop in the hole and covered it and he stopped. He has also been excellent at going in the "potty" area of our yard. I couldn't be prouder. We have also noticed that if you take your socks off with your shoes at the door (kids- stinky feet!) Thor will quickly run off with a sock. LOL! We laugh and get grossed out wondering why anyone would want a sock after it has gone through football practice?

Glad that has worked for him and he has stopped the digging :-) I know exactly what you mean about the socks, dogs love stinky stuff, the stinkier the better! LOL

Oh man!! HOW SCARY! I'm glad he's doing okay. We have found that Rocco LOVES chocolate. Not that we feed it to him, but if things aren't pushed back on the counter or island, he'll snatch it! Who are we kidding, he'll snatch anything. lol! He has grown so much! I cant believe i havent seen him yet! D: i gotta make a trip out to see him!

Good luck to scott (and jacob) at the football game on saturday. wish i could be there! :( see you on saturday night?! :)
